nike sb june 2010 releases
5.31.2010 @ 12:16 PM
Summer is not just a time for fun in the sun, but it is also the time when one gears up for the best releases– summer blockbusters, apparel, and of course, sneakers. For Nike SB’s June 2010 sneaker release, some highly coveted models will finally be hitting stores and the insatiable sneaker pot (which should be found somewhere between your heart and your stomach). For instance, the bright yellow Omar Salazaar signature model– also one of the coolest skate shoes around that is extra lightweight and supportive with Nike Flywire technology, and the cool grey Nike Zoom Paul Rodriguez 3 with fresh green accents that will be perfect for summer.
Aside from the signature models (also worth mentioning is the Nike Zoom Paul Rodriguez 2.5 which shares a colorway similar to Parra’s collaboration with Nike from before), the Nike SB classics such as the Classic High, Dunk Hi, Dunk Low and Blazer SB have all gotten a palette make over. Orange and black turns out to be quite a key palette for June even though it is neither fall nor Halloween, and another cool pair to note is the Eric Koston Dunk Low Premium SB in a Thailand inspired colorway of blue, red and opulent gold.
Check out your nearest Nike SB dealer for some sweet kicks this summer, be it a versatile grey addition or a sunshine yellow pair to fulfill all your skating whims.
“Colin Powers Austin Power, lost in translation with a whole fuckin’ nation. They say I was the abomination of a Obama’s nation, well that’s a pretty bad way to start a conversation. At the end of the day, Goddamnit, I’m chillin’ and shit. I know damn well y’all feelin’ this shit. I don’t need your p—y, bitch, I’m on my own dick….how Ye doing? I’m survivin’. I was drinking earlier, now I’m driving. Where the bad bitches, huh? Where y’all hiding? I got the power makin’ life, so excitin’.“

“IN SEARCH OF GOTHAM”
Chris Bosh and one of The Remix Project’s official photographers William Nguyen launches debut photography exhibition in the cross streets of urban decay and urban renewal. Gotham City, a fictional city appearing in DC Comics, is best known as the home of Batman. Batman’s place of residence was first identified as Gotham City in Batman #4 (Winter 1940).
Reinterpreting Toronto as the mythical Gotham City, photographer William Nguyen highlights the Mega City’s gothic, seedier side giving us a glimpse of what Toronto might look like if the caped crusader indeed roamed our streets. Believing firmly that we all have superheroes resting somewhere within our breast, William Nguyen’s “In Search of Gotham” exhibition is as much an expression of love for his city as much as it is a call to action to it’s citizens.
“I always loved batman growing up. For the obvious reason that he looked cool, but also because of what he represented. He’s an ordinary man, with no super powers. Fueled and motivated by the things that happened/are happening around him. He took action to change things, at the same time sacrificing his life. He sacrificed love, a personal life and maybe even a reputation for the greater good. The goal was to make a difference and inspire others when they had lost reason to believe in better things. I frequently assess my life and found some similarities. Obviously I’m not doing what batman does, but I am him, to a smaller degree, in my own way. And, if I am batman, than this, Toronto, is my Gotham City. We can be anything we can imagine, the question is, when do we start converting our imagination to reality. This series is my attempt to realize that dream and show people that the fantastical exists in our everyday. We just need to recognize that.” – William Nguyen
Urban decay and potential meet seamlessly at “Unit C” located at 102 Ossington, Unit C for this exciting new show. A rough space of pockmarked concrete, old graffiti tags and sparkling new dry wall, “Unit C” on the developing Ossington strip is the perfect home for In Search of Gotham.
Music supplied by Johnny Hockin of MTV News Artist, William Nguyen, in attendance. A percentage of all sales will be donated to registered charity, The Remix Project.
Money just changed everything, I wonder how life without it would go From the concrete who knew that a flower would grow Lookin’ down from the top and its crowded below My fifteen minutes started an hour ago Truth over fame, you know I respect the blatant shit When I hear talkin, I just dont know what to make of it Hate is so familiar to me, I’m slowly embracing it
Doesn’t come natural, bear with me it could take a bit Yeah, and my dreams who I'm racing with You can see Im pacin it so that Im always chasin it Wayne put me right here, thats who I get the paper with I hope that my success never alters our relationship Yeah, this life is something I would die for Octobers Own, but its lookin like July 4th But I just wish theyd let you try it first This time Im really goin off, fireworks
I got this one girl, you know, in my life So I say in this song, I say I’m just such a gentleman You should give it up for me Look at how I’m placing al my napkins and my cutlery I can tell it wasn’t love I just thought you fuck with me Who coulda predicted love could strike now you stuck with me Yeh, I kept my wits about me luckilly What happened between us that night it always seems to trouble me Now all of a sudden these gossip brags wanna cover me And you making it seem that it happened that way because of me But I was curious and I’ll never forget it baby What an experience You coulda been the one but it wasnt that serious Their was smoke in the air before now its me clearing it That felt good, all and all I learned a lesson from it though You never see it coming you just get to see it go Yeah I shoulda looked up in the sky at first Now I see it in her eyes Fireworks!

Capping months of track-owning guest appearances on joints alongside Drake & Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne and B.o.B (not to mention the killer freestyle track “Despicable”), Em’s “Not Afraid”, the first taste off his next full length Recovery, lands as another lyrical stunner, with him surprisingly coming across as equally compelling when preaching positive about living a “clean” lifestyle as he does when he’s flexing his more loony and murderous-minded material.
Only problem is, while we’re excited to hear he’s become aware of how awful the various “accents” and pop star/ tabloid staple-spoofing had become, “Not Afraid” feels less and less interesting with each successive listen (maybe it’s that ’80’s arena rock-styled hook), and we’re not necessarily sure we’re ready for an entire album of Eminem getting all uplifting on us.
Surely Kim has done something scandalous in recent years to inspire at least one Recovery song that throws back to his bat-shit crazy rhymes.

See all i wanna do is be RELEVANT,
Just tell me that i ever meant anything MORE,
That you could ever see me and you in another light,
But its like the dark women indoors in the darkest nights by the wrong man,
mostly all of them have made you incapable of a first IMPRESSION,
what it do is i channel my aggression with no cable or antenna,
Just intentions to impress you. If capable.
Hoping that the material possessions can materialise to a BETTER you,
Cars, nothing i drive can drive you out of this state of mind,
For such an ugly picture and,
MONEY, nothing i buy can buy more time for your ears to tell your heart to listen to it,
DIAMONDS, a girls best friend is what they say but believe me with the right allegience shorty you gonna SHINE anyways,
and everyday that goes by is a couple more lines in her diary,
the day before is better than the present,
so anyone presented in his presence is doing these life sentences,
theres no key for release,
no reason to be around,
her mind in the clouds,
she writes it all down,
in her diary.
